Field Trip to the Zoo

posted Nov 4, 2015, 10:42 AM by Sarah Friedman

Phoenix Academy High School students and staff joined East Chapel Hill High School students and staff on a field trip to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. Students were able to see each of the animals in an area that is similar to their natural habitats and participated in discussions with other students and staff concerning the operation of the zoo and how the zoo contributes to the ecology of animals in the world.  For many of our Phoenix Academy High School students this was their first time attending the North Carolina Zoo and almost all of them expressed their appreciation for being able to participate in the field trip.

One of the primary focus for Phoenix Academy High School is to ensure our students are able to be exposed to as many experiences as possible.  We recognize the importance of contributing to the total development of each child.  Affording the students the opportunity to participate with other schools as well as have a unique experience such as going to the zoo ensures we are continuing to have a significant influence of their total growth.
